iglidur® J, sleeve bearing, mm

  • The versatile endurance runner, highly resistant to wear on (nearly) all shafts with very low coefficients of friction
  • Low wear against different shaft materials
  • Low coefficients of friction in dry operation
  • Vibration-dampening
Product description
iglidur® J | The versatile endurance runner

  • Over 250 dimensions available from stock
  • Low wear many different shaft materials
  • Low coefficients of friction in dry operation
  • Vibration dampening
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Best material to use with low-cost soft shaft materials
  • Low moisture absorption
One main advantage of iglidur® J plain bearings is the combination of a low coefficient of friction in dry operation and the low stick-slip tendency. With a maximum recommended surface pressure of 35 MPa, iglidur® J plain bearings are not suitable for extreme loads.

Typical application areas

Vending machinery
Printing industry

Tolerances and measurement system
The installation dimensions and tolerances of iglidur® plain bearings are a function of the material and wall thicknesses. For each material, the moisture absorption and the thermal expansion are decisive factors. Plain bearings with low moisture absorption can be designed with a minimal bearing clearance. The rule for wall thickness: the thicker the wall of the bearings, the larger the clearances must be.
Testing methods

Assembly
iglidur® plain bearings are press-fit bearings. The inner diameter adjusts only after press-fitting in the correctly toleranced housing. The press-fit excess dimension can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures the secure press-fitting of the bearing. Axial or radial movement in the housing are prevented this way.
