Trapezoidal thread lead screws from dryspin® lead screw technology
Lead screws are machine elements used to convert a rotary motion into a linear motion.
The trapezoidal lead screws and lead screw nuts from igus® are based on the principle of lubrication-free linear technology. The specifications and shapes of the drylin® lead screw technology matched to the polymer nut and trapezoidal lead screw guarantee an even longer service life and efficiency.
Advantages of the drylin® trapezoidal thread lead screws:
► 100% maintenance-free dry running
► Quiet and vibration-free operation
► Insensitive to dust and dirt
► 100% corrosion-free
► High efficiency levels
► Cost-effective purchase
► Fast delivery times
The cross section of the trapezoidal thread corresponds to an isosceles trapezoid with an angle of 15°. The thread angle is 30°. Compared to the standard thread, the trapezoidal thread lead screw has a larger diameter and a greater pitch. The pitch angle is smaller than the arc tangent for single start trapezoidal lead screws. Thus, self-locking is given. Two-start lead screws, on the other hand, are not self-locking.
