The oil and gas industry with igus® motion plastics

Moving energy supply systems that function under extreme conditions

Dirt, saltwater, vibrations, extreme temperatures, high levels of mechanical stress and the risk of explosion are the most frequently occurring problems that impair the performance of drilling equipment and other devices used for oil and gas extraction. In such surroundings, where downtime is costly, the energy chains from igus® offer the performance characteristics needed to ensure smooth and continuous operation.

Benefits of igus products:

  • Systems supplier for complete systems
  • 100% corrosion-free, resistant to seawater and heavy duty tested
  • Maintenance-free for 24/7 use
  • Longer service life, e.g. compared to steel chains and service loops
  • Weight-saving of up to 70% compared with steel chains
  • Lower costs and increase safety of equipment

Modular e-loop energy chain system

The alternative to the service loop to guide cables safely in hanging applications. Ideal for three-dimensional applications.
  • Combines the advantages of a plastic energy chain with those of a high-strength pull rope.
  • Inside the chain, the pull rope transfers the tensile forces to the mounting brackets and the structure. As a result, the cables are kept completely free of strain.
  • Convenient: individual cables can be replaced.
