Flat linear robot
The company igus offers linear robots as flat, line and room linear robots for a wide range of tasks. The igus linear robots include preconfigured drylin linear modules and linear axes with igus stepper motors as well as all components required for self-assembly.
Application examples
Typical applications for our drylin® flat linear robots are pick and place, conveyor belt picking and stacking tasks in two-dimensional space.
In most cases, the flat linear robot provides the platform on which our customers build their application. In the case of flat linear robots, these are often superstructures that serve to inspect components, for example in quality assurance.
X-axes
consisting of: two drylin® ZLW-1040 toothed belt axis, standard version,
toothed belt tension 200 N, feed rate 70 mm/rev, aluminium profile, surface:
hard-anodised, PU toothed belt with steel cable, white, guide carriage length
150 mm, plastic shaft end support, driven by an igus stepper motor in
installation size NEMA24 with encoder, mechanically synchronised by an
aluminium main shaft AWMR-12
Y-axis
consisting of: drylin® ZLW-1080 toothed belt axis, standard version,
toothed belt tension 200 N, feed rate 70 mm/rev, aluminium profile, surface:
hard-anodised, PU toothed belt with steel cable, white, guide carriage length
100 mm, aluminium shaft end support, driven by an igus stepper motor in
installation size NEMA23 with encoder
Control system
The igus RobotControl Software allows for simple and intuitive
robot control and programming, and thus an easy entry
into automation. The modular design makes it possible to control various igus kinematics, such as delta robots. The linear robot can be controlled via our igus® Robot Control with all its advantages.
The free-of-charge, licence-free igus Robot Control software is integrated into the control system and thus makes use of a uniform operating concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system.
This entails less project planning effort and faster commissioning.
The igus Robot Control is not a component of the part and can optionally be purchased from us. A master control system is not necessary.
You can of course also use your own (robot) control system.
Alternatively, it is also possible to operate each axis individually with a control
system. For example, with our igus® D1 dryve motor control system. With this control architecture, you need per linear axis or motor and an additional master control system, which controls the coordination of the movement. You must then program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself on your development environment.
The motor control systems are not part of the product and can be ordered
from us as an option. Master control system is currently not offered by igus.
Optional accessories
Cable set for 2-axis kinematics in 3, 5 or 10m, igus® Robot Control for linear robots or other sizes available upon request separately available.
Further information
Further strokes up to 3m are available as standard and, after technical testing, up to 6m and 100kg.
If you are unsure whether you can use the product as desired, please contact us or use our linear robot configurator (beta).
