Our apprenticeships are varied and there is something here for everyone, from AAT, Business Administration, CIPD, Customer Service to Engineering apprenticeships.

Once apprentices have completed their courses, they can move onto the igus Graduate Program or may have the opportunity to become an igus employee. The Apprentice Program is to level 3 (or A level) and the Graduate Program is to degree level. These two programs have different support systems and benefits attached to them.

“I joined igus straight after college after completing a Diploma in Applied Science. My career began with a level 3 SHE Technician course which I completed in 16 months. I then progressed to the PIEMA Environmental Management course, taking around 8 months. Currently, I’m undertaking a Degree Apprenticeship in Chartered Management at the University of Northampton, which helping me to develop a wide range of transferrable skills that I can apply in all aspects of life. I started in the Systems department, supporting safety, sustainability facility management. Today, I’m part of the i-People team where I assist with human resources. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had at igus and look forward to growing further and progressing my career.” - Gemma

We have accomplished this by creating a health, safety and wellbeing team, led by those who have a passion for wellbeing, healthy lifestyles, charity events and improving the safety culture. Everyone at igus has the opportunity to voice their opinions and be a part of every event we run, which include various businesses and charities across Northamptonshire.

Since creating this group, we have:

• Introduced a range of wellbeing activities, including a fitness bootcamp and Pilates sessions, to support colleagues in staying active and healthy.
• Raised funds and donated items to a variety of charities through multiple fundraising initiatives, supporting both local and wider causes.
• Launched creative classes such as knitting, art sessions, candle making and other craft activities to promote creativity, relaxation, and social connection.

SURE statement

SURE (Safety Unit and Risk Elimination) is a new business team led collaboratively, where each member takes it in turn to take the wheel. Its members are based across multiple departments, and its remit is to make our workplace and local area a more sustainable and safer environment, creating a culture that all staff will thrive in. This will be achieved by improving the health & safety, and wellbeing of our igus employees.
