drygear® worm gear with accessories - precise positioning entirely without motor
The igus drygear® RL-D worm gears are available in numerous installation sizes and designs, offering maximum flexibility for a wide range of applications. A common feature of all variants is the integrated centre hole for the feed-through of cables, which allows for a particularly compact and tidy design.
All worm gears can be combined with custom-fit motor kits and proximity switch kits upon request. In addition, extensive accessories are available that allow for convenient and precise manual positioning of the gearbox - ideal for setting, adjustment or positioning applications.
For manual adjustment, the drygear® worm gear can be equipped with a hand wheel as an option. Depending on the requirement, various designs are available:
- Hand wheel with fixed handle
- Hand wheel without handle
- Hand wheel with security handle
- Hand wheel with folding handle
The hand wheel allows sensitive, controlled positioning of the output, even with higher gear ratios. Especially during commissioning, maintenance work or in applications that involve infrequent position changes, manual adjustment offers a simple and safe solution - entirely without electrical energy.
In addition, the gearbox can be equipped with further functions to make manual operation even more convenient:
- Position indicator for direct, easy-to-read display of the current position
- Manual clamp, with which the set position can be securely fixed
This combination allows for a reproducible setting and ensures that the position is reliably maintained despite external influences.
Thanks to the worm wheel, which is made of tribologically optimised high-performance plastics, completely lubrication-free dry operation is possible. The gearbox is therefore maintenance-free, clean and particularly durable. All installation sizes are available for applications with both increased axial and radial load. In addition, the versions can be configured with a one-sided or double-sided turntable at the output.
