drygear® worm gear units
The igus drygear® worm gears "RL-D" are available in various designs for different applications. A common feature of all worm gears is the centre bore for the feed-through of cables. Suitable motor kits and initiator kits are available for all worm gear units. You can find them here.
The worm gear is made of tribologically optimised high-conductivity plastics. Thus, the gearbox functions in dry running and is maintenance-free.
Drygear® "RL-D" worm gearboxes are available in the sizes 20, 30, 50. All sizes are available as symmetrical and asymmetrical versions.
The symmetrical version with an output on both sides is used especially in the vertical mounting position. Typically, the gearbox is used as a drive for pivot movements or as a robotics component.
The asymmetrical version with a single-sided output is used in particular in the horizontal mounting position as a rotary table or rotary axis and for rotary applications. Typical fields of application are in material handling, toolmaking or as sensor adjustment.
All sizes and designs are available both as a slewing ring bearing (PRT) variant and as a ball bearing variant. The slewing ring bearing variant is used for high axial loads and low dynamics, while the ball bearing variant is used for lower axial loads and higher dynamics.
