Types of corrugated tubes

There are many types of corrugated tubes that have been specially developed for different requirements and areas of application. From simple PVC hoses to highly specialised, halogen-free or chemical-resistant versions, these cable protection solutions cover a wide range of applications. The right choice of corrugated tube ensures a long service life, reliable cable protection and easy installation. Here is an overview of the most important types of corrugated tube:

Corrugated plastic tubes

Plastic corrugated tubes are the most commonly used protective hoses, as they are flexible, lightweight and cost-effective. Materials: PA (polyamide), PP (polypropylene) and PVC (polyvinyl chloride).

Corrugated metal tubes

Corrugated metal tubes are made of materials such as aluminium, steel or stainless steel and are extremely robust and resistant to mechanical and thermal loads.

Halogen-free corrugated tubes

Halogen-free corrugated tubes are specially designed for safety-critical applications. They do not develop any toxic or corrosive gases in the event of a fire, making them ideal for use in public buildings, railways or aeroplanes.

UV-resistant corrugated tubes

UV-resistant corrugated tubes are specially designed for outdoor use and have been developed to withstand long-term exposure to UV radiation.

Slotted corrugated tubes

Slotted corrugated tubes have an opening on the long side, making it easy to insert cables without having to remove or open the tube first.

Chemical-resistant corrugated tubes

Chemical-resistant corrugated tubes are often used in industrial areas where aggressive substances such as oils, fuels or cleaning agents are present.

PMAFLEX corrugated tube

The corrugated tube "PMAFLEX" comprises various tube types for a wide range of applications in the field of cable protection. The PMAFLEX line offers tubes for technically demanding applications with special requirements. Pipe sizes are available from 4.5mm to 125mm diameter in versions from very light to very heavy and bendable to highly flexible. Standard colours are black and grey. Many tube types are specially tested or approved in accordance with CSA, UL Recognition, NF, SNCF, DB, etc.

PMAFIX connections

The designation PMAFIX describes a very wide range of connection fittings with the patented PMA safety interlock system. The connection fittings are available for IP66 and IP68 tightness. IP66 connection fittings are equipped with a pre-installed universal lock, which ensures quick push-in installation of the tube. IP68 connection fittings for increased requirements are supplied with a special tube sealing cap.
