Sun protection slats with maintenance-free bearings

A sun protection system containing 1,026 vertical slats on expanded metal is used on the E.ON technical centre. They are electrically driven and, with an angle of inclination of approx. 50°, offer perfect sun protection while providing good visibility. iglidur J plain bearings offer a very good coefficient of friction for easy adjustment and require very little installation space. Thanks to their dry operation, no additional lubrication is required, which eliminates any need for maintenance.

Adjust the lighting conditions

With this project, sunblinds facilitate the best possible regulation of lighting conditions. Special bearings made of iglidur J with a machined thread act as mounts due to their weather-resistant properties.

Regulating air flow in the stadium

igubal spherical bearings make it possible to set individual slats of the stadium cladding in such a way that the flow of air within the stadium can be regulated without problem.

Daylight despite privacy protection

A facade solution was employed at this primary school to block the view into the assembly hall but to allow sunlight to shine in. This was made possible by igubal fixed flange bearings that withstand temperature and weather conditions of all kinds.

Sense of well-being thanks to adjustable slats

With this glass slat system, each individual slat is infinitely adjustable up to an opening angle of 80°. A solution that not only ensures a pleasant climate but is optically an eye-catcher, too. Maintenance-free iglidur G plain bearings act as mounts.
