Special design of the igus® e-spool® for stage technology
For the use of moving products in the stage area, there are special requirements regarding the noise level that may be generated during use. The requirements depend on the circumstances of the application. For a particularly noise-sensitive application, for example, a volume of less than 54dB was required - measured one metre away from the e-spool®. This value is just below the volume of the standard e-spool® (56dB).
Experimental setup
The e-spool® is moved in an insulated room at a speed of approx. 0.3 metres per second. The noise development is measured and recorded at a distance of 1 metre.
Conclusion:
The special e-spool® with its additional insulating material remains below the required noise level and can therefore be used.
The standard e-spool® SP1.850.14000.02.R.0 had only a slightly higher noise development under the same conditions - Lpeak 56dB(A); Leq = 49dBA.

Our tests focus on tensile and shear forces. coefficient of friction, wear, drive force and abrasion under a wide range of conditions and speeds. Influencing factors such as dirt, weather, cold or shocks and impacts are taken into account.
