Some of the toughest environments can be found in Agricultural and construction machinery applications. Bearings must withstand heavy loads, dirt, moisture, vibration and constant movement without compromising on performance.
By comparing maintenance-free igus plain bearings against traditional metallic bearing solutions, allows designers and engineers to evaluate bearing performance under real-world conditions. We have a custom built test rig that has a front loader that simulates the operating environments found in hydraulic-driven machinery. The testing programme provides valuable insights into wear rates, durability and long-term reliability.
The results are there to help engineers identify the most effective bearing and shaft combinations for front loaders and other heavy-duty applications. The data gathered can be transferred to other applications in the heavy-duty sector. Similar parameters can generally be found in all applications that are driven by a hydraulic cylinder.
