Examples of successful applications in construction machinery

Schwing GmbH uses igus® components for its mobile stone wire saw. The saw cuts natural stone blocks in quarries, which must not be contaminated by dripping lubricant. They also withstand the dusty and dirty conditions of the quarry.

The STEIGER® T 1000 HF is a truck-mounted access platform that is characterised by its outstanding specifications. It offers a working height of 100 metres and an impressive outreach of 39 metres. The work platform is extremely compact with a vehicle length of 16.53 metres.

The Kässbohrer Powerbully has to be reliable and withstand journeys through mud, sludge and bog. Dirt cannot always be kept away from the bearing points. This is where our heavy-duty bearings come into their own

The Chinese company LGMG builds aerial work vehicles that are used for electricity projects and the installation of outdoor advertising, among other things. A challenge for the guidance of energy and data cables, which must reliably follow the lifting movement without causing failure due to breakage.

To give the machine operator a better view, the cabs of the SENNEBOGEN machines can be adjusted in height. The cables are protected by an energy chain from the E4 light series.

3D printing concrete buildings up to 40 metres high: This is made possible by a robot portal from the Spanish company Evocons. According to the company, this is the only on-site construction system in the world that automates the majority of construction activities.

Herrenknecht AG relies on the E4.1 energy chain from igus® for its tunnelling machines due to its robustness and the fact that it protects the cables. Pre-assembly for the customer was also possible and the energy chains were supplied already filled with signalling and power cables.

KGS Keller Geräte & Service GmbH now uses the E4.1 energy chain with our chainflex® cable and the reverse bend radius system for its drilling rigs. This allows the energy chain to bend in reverse. This means that a safe energy supply can be realised even if the device has a complicated structure.

L&K Land- und Kraftfahrzeugtechnik GmbH requires bearings that are maintenance-free over the entire operating period of 4,000 hours. We exceeded these requirements. Even after more than 5 years of use, the bearings did not need to be lubricated or replaced.

Ets Payant manufactures pulley modules with which they can transport soil from holes up to 65 metres deep. All components must be able to withstand the effects of weather, dust and impact. For this reason, several igus® products are used. These include double spherical plain bearings, flange bearings, thrust washers and aluminium shafts.

W. Gessmann GmbH had clear specifications for its driver's seats. The seat should not only be able to rotate around its own axis, but should also be able to be moved at right angles to the direction of travel. For this reason, Gessmann decided in favour of our drylin® W guide rails

Together with AUSA, we have developed a solution that makes it possible to turn and steer the driver's seat of a dumper truck.

The company EBAWE Anlagentechnik GmbH needed a special 3D head for the attachment of a high-pressure water jet nozzle, which should not be able to be inserted vertically but also at an angle to the insulation panel. This was realised with the help of our iglidur® slewing ring bearings.
