Overview

Fully automated cartoners cover various functions from feeding to closing the cartons filled with the products. The requirements for all components of these multi-talented machines are usually that they are completely lubrication and maintenance-free, as light as possible and have precise and reliable motion sequences.

Products used and application examples

Using the packaging machine from Neubauplan Automation Machines as an example, the usual stations of a cartoning machine are shown below and our products used here are assigned. The manufacturer sometimes uses drylin® bearing technology and spindle lifting tables, but also igubal® spherical plain bearings and iglidur® plain bearings for various format adjustments.

This packaging machine folds cartons, loads them with up to 500 consumer goods per minute and transports them to the dispatch station.

1. carton feeding
The feeding of the cardboard blanks into the packaging process is ensured via iglidur ® plain bearings for high loads and with optimised friction and wear properties.

2. product pusher
igubal ® spherical plain bearings and drylin® W profile guides in combination with a pair of the corresponding drylin® W housing bearings are suitable for use in the pusher.

3. carton erector
As the blank is pushed through a chute, the carton erects and encloses the product. The linear movement is made possible by the drylin® rail and carriage in combination with igubal ® spherical plain bearings.

4. carton handling
Idler rollers with xiros ball bearings or a carton feeder consisting of drylin® W profile guides and housing bearings are suitable for transporting the cartons.
