The Cleanwaterbox 5.0 from Absu Water is a portable water treatment plant developed to extract drinking water from surface water or to purify contaminated tap water in crisis situations. Problem

The filter system of the water treatment plant is assembled on a pull-out tray to allow for easy access when cartridges need to be replaced and maintenance work is due.

The design engineers initially used telescopic rails with ball bearing guides, but these quickly reached their limits. Shocks and vibrations, which inevitably occur during frequent transport, were just as much a problem as the environmental conditions.

The system is designed for outdoor use. When exposed to rain, wind, sand, dust and extreme temperatures, the ball-bearing telescopic rail proved insufficient. Dirt got into the ball guide and impaired its function.

Solution

Our lubrication-free drylin linear systems are the perfect solution for outdoor applications. The Cleanwaterbox 5.0 is now equipped with our drylin telescopic rails from the NT-60 series, which can easily withstand the strains of emergency use. Thanks to their dry-running sliding elements, they are resistant to vibrations and shocks and also insensitive to dirt and moisture. As they do not require external lubricants, dirt does not stick to them, which ensures that they can be pulled out smoothly without jamming.

Switching to the drylin solution makes replacing filter cartridges easier and quicker, ensuring smooth operation of the system. In addition, every machine now weighs 2kg less than before, which reduces CO2 emissions. Changing the guide system thus helps the customer reach their sustainability goals.
