This is an innovative support for the lower leg. It shall make long drives by car or train more comfortable. Several products from igus® have been installed for the linear movement of the lower seat module, such as drylin® W single rails or drylin® W double rails. LM ball bearings and shafts were used in the first phase of development, but they needed to be lubricated frequently, caused noise and had a high weight. Polymer bearings from igus® are lubrication-free, lightweight, silent and resistant to corrosion.
