Trouble-free operation without wear

The fully automated indoor farming systems from the Scottish company Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) have to be highly precise and at the same time operate with low friction and be easy to maintain. The drylin linear robot system used in the IGS towers meets all requirements and keeps maintenance and hardware costs low. An inspection after one year of operation did not reveal any significant wear on the bearing shell.

Automation in worm breeding

The Langhoff family breeds giant red worms that are used by anglers, for example, as feed worms for animals, for hunting or as a natural fertiliser producer for gardens and greenhouses. For around ten years, father Martin Langhoff, has been developing his own systems to facilitate everyday work for the family business in order to improve the breeding process and make it more effective. 100% maintenance-free for irrigating plants

A special crossbeam system from the American manufacturer Living Green Farms, provides irrigation for many plants in an empty warehouse on 4,000 m². The igus e-chains provide a secure energy supply without maintenance for the aeroponic work, where nutrient-enriched water is transported directly to the plant roots.
